ROUGH TRANSLATION:
Regulations stated that: All letters should be picked up at the post
office, letter collection site or exchange spot which is why the post
office called for rural populations to agree on a common pickup and
delivery point for mail and local private carriage to the rural people
themselves who would pay a fee.
The letter is on 27.01.1855 sent by stagecoach from Copenhagen to
Elsinore. The charge is the usual 4 SK per weight. Since "Landlyst" is
located 1/2 mil outside Elsinore, it privately employed rural postmen
with a calculated fee of 2 SK for rural delivery. The local postmaster
could bypass the post office responsible for the district delivery, and
sometimes the postmaster even paid the rural postman.
